Highly skilled SWPTA affiliated HVAC-R technicians keep the southwest safe and comfortable
HVAC-R systems are critical in the southwest U.S., as these systems keep people cool when the temperature gets hot and keep them warm when it gets cold.
HVAC-R goes deeper than just your in-home air conditioning and heating units. These systems include the freezers and coolers in grocery stores, the air-handling units that control the temperature, pressure and humidity in medical facilities, as well as the heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems that keep people safe and comfortable in schools, offices, hospitals and shopping malls.
If not properly maintained, these HVAC-R systems can end up costing a building owner a lot of money to run, to repair or to replace.
HVAC-R technicians from SWPTA affiliated Local Unions install, maintain and repair HVAC-R systems in industrial, commercial and residential settings.
In addition to these systems, our technicians are highly skilled at installing and maintaining refrigeration systems of all kinds in commercial and industrial settings.
These HVAC-R technicians are required to complete the five-year United Association Local Union registered apprenticeship program. During this time, they work toward acquiring industry leading certifications so they are equipped to work on any project of any size or level of complexity.
